Secret Santa 2026
Secret Santa online, with everyone’s wish list
Draw names, share one link in your WhatsApp group, and let everyone add what they’d love. Each person sees who they’re buying for, with that person’s list right there. Everyone else joins with just their name: no email, no app to install.
Organize my Secret SantaFree. Players don’t need an email or an app.
How it works
- Create the group: a name, the exchange date and a budget (10, 20, 30 or whatever you agree).
- Share one link in your WhatsApp group. Everyone joins with their name in two taps.
- Everyone adds what they’d love, from any store. If someone hasn’t made a list yet, we write the reminder for you to send.
- Draw names. Each person sees only who they got, with that person’s list. Nobody else knows, not even you.
Everything a good draw needs
- Made for WhatsApp: the link looks right in the group, with the name, date and budget.
- Exclusions: couples, or anyone you choose, won’t draw each other. If the rules make the draw impossible, we tell you plainly.
- Budget and date in plain sight, so nobody overspends or underspends.
- Everyone’s list, from any store: paste a link, upload a screenshot or just type it.
- No email, no install: players join from the link with their name. Email is optional.
- Someone joined late? You can redraw. We warn you first, because it changes the result for anyone who has already looked.
Does everyone in your family buy for everyone?
Lots of families skip the draw: everyone gives to several people, and the hard part is knowing who already bought what. Yotekobi handles that too. Everyone has their own list (parents manage the kids’ lists), it all lives in one link, and everyone can see what’s already taken, except on their own list. Want a Secret Santa among the grown-ups as well? Add it to the same group.
See how the family list worksHow to organize a Secret Santa, step by step
With an app or with slips of paper, a good Secret Santa comes down to six things.
1. Who’s playing
Close the list of players before you draw. Three people is enough, but six or more is a lot more fun. With kids around, many families leave them out of the draw and everyone gives to them.
2. The budget
Agree on a fixed amount or a range, and stick to it. A clear number takes the stress out of shopping.
3. The date
Set the exchange day and draw at least two weeks ahead, so people can shop calmly and don’t depend on last-minute delivery.
4. Exclusions
Decide who shouldn’t draw whom: couples, people who already swap gifts anyway, or last year’s pairs.
5. Lists, not guesswork
The best help is everyone adding two or three things they’d love, at different prices. The giver picks one and gets it right, and the surprise is still a surprise.
6. Exchange day
Everyone hands over their gift and, if you like, you play at guessing who had whom. It’s the best part.
Ideas by budget
If your person hasn’t made a list yet, think about what they use every day, not what suits them.
Around 10: a treat they love, a fun mug or socks, a small plant, a paperback.
Around 20: a book or comic by their favorite author, a card game, something for their hobby, or a small outing like a movie ticket.
Around 30: a board game, something for their sport, or the kitchen treat they’d never buy themselves.
Better still: ask the whole group to make their lists before the draw. Getting it right beats guessing.
Private by design
We never ask for your address, we don’t use tracking cookies, and we never sell your data. Nobody sees who drew whom, and the person receiving never sees what’s been reserved for them. You can delete everything anytime.
Questions and answers
Is the Secret Santa draw free?
Yes. Drawing names, inviting people on WhatsApp and letting everyone see who they got, with that person’s list, is free.
Do players need an email or an account?
No. They join from the link with just their name. If they want, they can leave an email so they can open their result on another device and hear when the draw is done. The organizer creates an account, with email or Google.
Do I need to download an app?
No. It works in the browser on a phone or computer, straight from the WhatsApp link.
Can I stop couples from drawing each other?
Yes. You choose who shouldn’t draw whom. If the exclusions make the draw impossible, we explain why so you can drop one.
How does everyone find out who they got without others seeing?
Each player sees only their own result when they open the group link on their phone. If they left an email, we tell them the draw is done without putting their match in the email. Nobody else sees it, not even the organizer.
What if someone joins after the draw?
You can redraw to include them. We warn you first that the result will change for anyone who has already looked, so you can tell the group.
Does Secret Santa work with an odd number of people?
Yes. There are no pairs: each person gives to one person and receives from another, whether you’re 3, 7 or 15.
How many people do you need?
Three or more. It works the same for family, friends, a team or the office.
Can I see my person’s wish list?
Yes. Their list appears next to their name. If they haven’t made it yet, it shows up there as soon as they do.
When can I use it?
Right now. It’s free: create the group, share the link and run the draw once everyone is in.
Does it work outside the US and UK?
Yes. It’s in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and the budget uses your currency.
The Secret Santa that always gets it right
One draw, one link and everyone’s list. No slips of paper, no gifts in the dark.
